About the Recipe

Simple ingredients, easy directions, and links for what I used. Enjoy!

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all purpose flour

  • 1 cup salt

  • 1 cup warm water

For cinnamon salt dough ornaments, I added 3 tbps of cinnamon and used whole wheat flour!

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 200°F.

Step 2

In a large mixing bowl or stand mixer, whisk to combine flour, salt and salt.

Step 3

Using your hands on a lightly floured surface or mixer fitted with the dough hook attachment, knead until smooth. The longer you knead, the smoother your dough and ornaments will be.

Step 4

Place parchment and roll dough 1/2 inch thick for ornaments.

Step 5

Gently handprint or footprint into dough. Using a straw, press into dough shape to punch a hole to hang ornament.

Step 6

Transfer parchment to cookie sheet and bake in a preheated oven 20 minutes.

Step 7

Brush on ModPodge to seal!

Baking time will vary based on how big/thick your ornament is. For smaller, more delicate ornaments, reduce baking time. For large ornaments, increase baking time.
