About the Recipe

Simple ingredients, easy directions, and links for what I used. Enjoy!

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all purpose flour

  • 2 tsp baking powder

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 1.5 cups whole milk greek yogurt

  • Optional: chocolate chips and blueberries for toppings or mix-ins. I used about 1/4 cup of mix-ins divided among 3 bagels. For the cinnamon raisin bagels, incorporate 1 teaspoon of cinnamon into the dry ingredients and about 1/4 cup of raisins as mix-ins/toppings.

Recipe makes 6 small bagels!

Preparation

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F.

  2. Put all the dry ingredients into a mixing bowl and combine. Add the greek yogurt and use a spatula to mix everything together. Once a rough dough forms, knead it by hand until it becomes "smooth." Although it won't appear perfectly smooth due to the Greek yogurt and flour, it shouldn't be too sticky.

  3. Once the dough is smooth, split it into 6 equal portions. Add your chosen toppings or mix-ins to each dough piece. Dust your hands with a bit of flour to prevent sticking, shape each piece into a ball, then roll them into ropes and join the ends.

  4. Place each one on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

  5. (Optional) Egg Wash: In a small bowl, mix the 1 egg with 1 tsp cold water and brush this mixture over each bagel. It gives it a golden color crust!

  6. Bake them in the oven for 20-25 minutes. Once done, allow them to cool slightly before cutting. Enjoy!
